SYSTEM
To
nurture leadership, teamwork, and a spirit of healthy competition, DPS Gomti
Nagar Extension follows a well-structured House System. The system provides
every student with opportunities to participate actively in academic,
co-curricular, and sports activities, thereby ensuring holistic development.
Students
are allotted to different houses at the time of admission and remain part of
the same house throughout their school journey. Each house comprises students
from various classes, promoting unity, cooperation, and peer learning across
age groups.
Tulips House
– Red stands for love, courage, energy, and determination.
It
symbolises passion for excellence, confidence in action, and the courage to
lead with compassion. The red tulip represents a vibrant spirit, inspiring
students to face challenges boldly, work with enthusiasm, and uphold strong
values in all endeavours.
Shamrocks House
– Green stands for growth, hope, harmony, and resilience.
Inspired
by the shamrock, it symbolises renewal and balance, encouraging students to
grow with integrity, nurture positive values, and remain steadfast in the face
of challenges. The green colour reflects prosperity, freshness of thought, and
a strong connection with nature, guiding students towards sustainable and
responsible living.
Daffodils House
– Yellow stands for optimism, joy, creativity, and enlightenment.
The
daffodil symbolises new beginnings and positive energy, inspiring students to
approach learning with enthusiasm, confidence, and curiosity. The yellow colour
reflects wisdom, cheerfulness, and intellectual growth, encouraging members of
the house to shine with positivity and spread warmth through their actions.
Bluebells House
– Blue stands for calmness, trust, discipline, and excellence.
The
bluebell symbolises humility and constancy, inspiring students to remain
composed, focused, and sincere in their pursuits. The blue colour reflects
wisdom, loyalty, and perseverance, encouraging members of the house to uphold
integrity, strive for excellence, and work harmoniously as a team.
Objectives
of the House System are to instil a
sense of belonging and school pride, develop leadership qualities and
responsibilities,encourage teamwork, discipline, and cooperation, promote
healthy competition in academics, sports, and cultural activities and to
provide equal opportunities for participation to all students.
Each
house functions under the guidance of dedicated House Wardens and is led by
elected student leaders House Captain,Vice-Captain and house prefects. The
student leaders work closely with teachers to organise events, motivate house
members, and uphold discipline and values.
Throughout the academic year, houses participate in a wide range of activities such as Inter-house sports and athletic events, Community service and social awareness initiatives,discipline, and punctuality duties. Points earned in these activities contribute towards the Inter-House Championship, encouraging consistent effort and teamwork. The House System plays a pivotal role in creating a vibrant, inclusive, and dynamic school environment. It empowers students to grow as responsible individuals while fostering unity, enthusiasm, and excellence in all spheres of school life.
